According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Association, 165,171 aerial work platforms were sold in 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 28.6%. Domestic sales totaled 63,886 units (down 42.4% year-on-year), while exports reached 101,285 units (down 16% year-on-year). Data from the 2025 IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) report indicates that the domestic fleet of aerial work platforms stood at 669,000 units by the end of 2024. Given an estimated service life of approximately eight years-similar to that of excavators-and considering the rapid growth in adoption that began in 2020, 2027 is expected to be a critical juncture for the mass replacement of the existing fleet.
Major global manufacturers include JLG and Terex (Genie) from the United States, Skyjack from Canada, and Haulotte from France. China has emerged as the world's third-largest market, giving rise to leading enterprises such as Sinoboom, Zhejiang Dingli, XCMG, LGMG, and Zoomlion. Competition within the industry is fierce, and products are evolving toward electrification and intelligent technology. Furthermore, application scenarios are expanding beyond traditional construction into sectors such as new energy (photovoltaics and wind power), warehousing and logistics, and municipal maintenance.
